Welcome to Flight Ecology

We specialise in ecological training and ecological consultancy services.

We offer quality training for both ecological professionals and those in allied professions, including arborists, architects, planners, and landscape professionals.

Based in the north-west of England, we deliver established and bespoke CPD training courses, both open courses and in house courses for a range of professions.

Our courses, which can be held all over the country, include Planning for Ecological Constraints, Bats and Trees, Endoscoping for Arborists, and Tree Surveying for Ecologists.

We also provide ecological surveys for bats, great crested newts, birds, reptiles, otters, and badgers, as well as providing aerial tree inspections for bats.

We provide ecological advice for developers, planners and architects. Bat surveys for buildings are a common survey requirement of housing developments, especially in rural areas, while great crested newt surveys are often a pre-planning requirement for landscape projects, such as housing developments or regeneration projects on brown-field sites.

Planning developments may also involve a range of bird surveys or other species surveys, such as badger surveys or otter surveys.

Based in Cumbria, we survey in Penrith, Kendal, Windermere, Coniston, Ulverston and the Kirkby Lonsdale areas, while in Lancashire we have managed projects in Lancaster, Preston and the Fylde coast. However, Flight Ecology are not restricted geographically and have worked nationwide, including in Scotland and Wales.
