BIRD OF PREY (RAPTOR) RINGING
As qualified tree climbers, Flight Ecology offer tree climbing services for ringing birds of prey (raptors) and carrying out maintenance or other checks of bird nests.
Although we do not have the necessary licenses to
carry out the ringing itself, we are experienced in climbing to nests and retrieving chicks for licensed bird ringers.
All our climbers are CS38 qualified, insured and use LOLER certified climbing equipment.
Flight Ecology have assisted charities for several years in ringing and monitoring osprey nests.
This has included maintaining the nests and monitoring equipment, as well as retrieving chicks for ringing. This requires a conscientious approach in order to handle birds confidently, but with care.
